A note submitted from a vendor at the Great Falls Gun and Antique Show
The Great Falls Gun and Antique Show opened April 28th with a medical emergency. A fellow vendor was at Lonnie Lindsay's tables when his defibrillator malfunctioned and gave him a serious shock. When he started to collapse, Lonnie was able to support him and get him carefully to the floor. Lonnie stayed with him and helped care for him with others until the emergency medical team arrived to take over medical care. The other vendor recovered somewhat and was transported for medical treatment. The WCSM has many good people who care for others and Lonnie is a great example of the fine members of our organization.
It is our understanding that the gentleman who collapsed recovered. Many thanks to Lonnie and those who helped care for him until medical emergency help arrived.

Letter received by the Executive Secretary:
My name is Ross Phillips and I am a licensed firearms collector and dealer from Wollongong in Australia. I am researching a Colt 1873 SSA 44-40 revolver with 4.75 inch barrel - serial #184263. This has "12X" engraved across the top of the barrel and stamped on the walnut grips and flap holster.
Research by a former owner includes a letter dated 18 January 1994 from former deputy T L Tyler on behalf of the Montana Law Enforcement Museum. This letter states in part: "Regarding your 1898 Colt 44.40 revolver believed to have come from Montana State Prison, records are non-existent, if they ever existed at all, regarding firearm equipment from Old MSP. However, we can safely conclude that your weapon did in fact come from OLD MSP's armoury stock at one time". I am uncertain how they made this conclusion if records do not exist. Another letter from the Montana State Prison dated October 28, 1993 confirms they have no records.
I have joined the Colt Collectors Association and associated forum but have not been able to obtain further information. Waiting for a letter from Colt Archives.
I am writing to you in the hope that you or a fellow member may be able to cast some light on the subject.
Regards and thanks for your attention,
Ross
